Collectors Summer Tea Dance (2016)
A few clips from a Summer Tea Dance held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in August 2016, for the collectors of The London Taxi Benevolent Association for the War Disabled, a charity that provides transport and entertainment for military veterans, in celebration of the charity’s National Lottery Award win. This event, a collaboration with Swing Patrol London, was filmed by the BBC and included a special appearance from Katie Derham, who came to meet the veterans.
Disco sailing (2019)
Disco Sailing is a work by the artist Rasheed Araeen, conceived in 1974, and reproduced as a performance as part of his retrospective exhibition at The Garage Moscow in 2019. It takes a town to make an opera: Bloom Britannia (2021)
A short film, made with Red Kite Films, documenting the joy of taking part in Barefoot Opera’s ‘people’s opera’, Bloom Britannia. Thrown off course by the pandemic, the power of the music remains, and the participants look forward to the return of the project in 2021…and bringing more people along for the ride. Filmed in Hastings, St. Leonards and Bexhill in December 2020. Also featuring footage from a rehearsal performance at the De La Warr Pavilion in 2019, with extracts from Bloom Britannia, composed by Orlando Gough with librettist Stephen Plaice, commissioned by Barefoot Opera. Made with funding and support from the Good Governance Institute and the Arts Council of England for their support in the making of the film.
Extracts from a day of filming at Bridge House
A short film made for Cheltenham Literary Festival in 2014. Featuring extracts from an interview with the novelist Elizabeth Jane Howard in her study, her garden and meadow, where we hear her reflect on the purpose of novels and her writing.
